AC WOMEN’S SPRING RETREAT
The one-day retreat was held on April 1, 2006 at Zion Christian Church in Troy, MI. It was a great day in the Lord focusing on Step 6. We had a skit that revealed how we battle within ourselves trying to be “ready to have God remove all of these defects of character”. We also had a demonstration of the “tools” we have to use to develop the “fruits of the Spirit”. It was a great day with our Sisters in AC, and we are sorry if you missed it. However, you will have another opportunity when we have our Fall retreat. It is scheduled for November 3 and 4 at Colombiere Conference Center in Clarkston, MI.

Mark your calendars and plan on attending because the Lord always shows up and works his miracles to heal and to set us free.

SPRING TRAINING CONFERENCE
The Spring Training conference was held at Ward Presbyterian Church and if you missed it you missed a really good one. The team who presented the training is going to do it again over on the west side of Michigan in Coopersville on July 29. So, if you missed the first one Praise the Lord! you have another opportunity to take advantage of training. This can only help you to keep your meeting on track and grow. Call the AC Office for the time and place of this training.

Just a note about the training conferences – we have had requests to have conferences in other states and although we would love to do this, we have limited resources of both manpower and finances. The training conferences have been taped (cassette) and you can order them from the AC Office We are hoping and praying that in the near future we will be able to video tape them

MEN’S SPRING RETREAT
It was held May 5 & 6 at Echo Grove Conference Center and the following is from a brother who attended.

“Know that the retreat was the absolute bomb. Jeff, Will, Joe, Don, Mike, Chris & all the other servants came together in the power of His might to provide the brothers with the potential for a life-changing experience.....to walk out on a day-by-day basis. The worship team worshipped in Spirit & in Truth.

The communion service itself was something that resonated Father's love for His sons in this redeemed, Irish-Catholic soul.....Joe was so under the anointing of the Holy Spirit, that when we partook of the Body & Blood......in remembrance of Jesus and what He did for us on Calvary......there was True Communion in the house.

Father dug it and was well pleased.

God Bless Your Heart”
Tim

Brothers you don’t know what you are missing if you don’t attend the retreats. There will be another one in the Fall. It is tentatively scheduled for Oct 27 & 28 at the same place. You don’t want to miss this one!

A C T S Dinner
The dinners have started again. We used to have them a long time ago and now they are starting up again and are called ACTS Dinners (AC Third Saturday Dinners) and will be held the third Saturday of every month. The first one was held in May at the American Family restaurant in Livonia. Will Garrett, Vice President spoke and gave his testimony and it was a great time of food and fellowship. There will be one every month. Hope to see you at the next one. (Sorry, this news may not have reached you before the one in June.)

NEWS FROM INDIA
Dr Syed Rahmat Hussain, AC leader of the Murideen Urdu fellowship and Shifa group of AC meetings wrote: It is such a joy to remember that our group would be 3 years old and though a new group, the Lord has helped us through out these years. From 2 we have become a group of 5 people who meet regularly. At the same time the Lord has blessed the ministry of our small church among the Muslims. Our fellowship has a rented place for accommodation and we help those who want to leave alcohol and drugs with a safe shelter for their care. This is basically our church, but as a group we help people and also share the gospel during this critical time. We as a group would love to thank AC for praying continuously for us. Please pray for our new ministry among children of broken families, with help of our friends and partners we are able to help 10 children study and take care of their physical needs. All of these children are from Muslim families.

It is amazing what the Lord is doing with AC. We are in several other countries and in many States here in the US. And we are all volunteers! There is only one person on payroll and that is our dear Caroline in the AC National Office in Royal Oak, MI. God has blessed this ministry with group leaders and table leaders who are dedicated to helping those suffering from addiction to find sanity, stability and freedom in Jesus Christ through the 12 Steps of AC. Thank you and God Bless all of our volunteers (really, you are God’s volunteers).

WOMEN’S FALL RETREAT IS SCHEDULED FOR NOVEMBER 3 & 4.

MEN’S FALL RETREAT IS TENTATIVELY SCHEDULED FOR OCT 27 & 28

ANNUAL PRAISEFEST WILL BE HELD ON NOVEMBER 20.

Please keep the AC groups all across the nation and around the world lifted up in prayer. The enemy does not like the work we are doing and tries in every conceivable way to discourage the groups and their leaders. He will attack not only them personally, but also their family members. He shows no mercy, but we have authority in the name of JESUS over ALL the power of the enemy, so let’s use it!

We (the whole of AC) would like to know how your group is doing, so please e-mail, write, or phone Caroline with your news. God is good and we should be praising Him for all he has done for us.

If you would like to receive the Newsletter via e-mail, please e-mail Caroline in the office and let her know. We are trying to be good stewards of the resources the Lord has provided, and this is one way we can do that, as it will cut down on our mailing costs. It is also on our web page. www.alcoholicsforchrist.com

GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU AND KEEP ON 12 STEPPING – all the way to JESUS.
