PRAISE REPORT FROM LIFE ON THE ROCK IN COOPERSVILLE, MI
The AC Leadership Workshop on 7/29/06 at Life on the Rock was a very good investment of time and energy. The workshop speakers did a great job “carrying the message”. The turnout was fantastic – approximately 40 individuals came from all over the state in response to a call on their hearts to become ‘proactive’ in the ministry of a 12 Step, Christ-centered fellowship of men and women birthed as Alcoholics for Christ, 30 years ago.
On a personal note, West Michigan AC thanks everyone for their support and attendance. It’s gratifying to see the hand of Father advancing His grace to those in bondage; that the prisoner be set free! The Street Called Straight is not paved with bricks of “topics, barefootin’, and 13th Steppin”. Amen? We are grateful for AC’s uncompromising commitment to the path of the 12 Steps. The redemptive power of the shed blood of Jesus Christ is appropriated in the lives of those commonly dismissed by many in the church as hopeless –when we join together to get our praise on and work the 12 Steps.
Though many are called, those who respond become “fishers of men” … truly the highest of all Higher Powered highs.
There are many opportunities available to serve “the least of these”. Call the AC National Office @ Detroit 248-399-9955 or US and Canada 1-800-441-7877
Get involved. Brothers and Sisters are dying. The fields are ripe for the harvest.

THE ANNUAL AC DETROIT AREA PICNIC
We had a great turnout at the picnic and everyone really enjoyed the food (it was potluck/pot blessing) and there was plenty of it!! Several of our musicians led us into worship and entertained us as well as the other group that shared the park with us that day. This year we had activities and games for the children.
Two men attending AA were inspired by the Holy Spirit to form a group similar to AA but with Christ as the Higher Power and now there are groups all across the Nation and in Canada, Africa, Nigeria, India, Sweden, New Zealand and will soon be in Russia. It’s amazing what the Lord has done!
The 30 Year Anniversary Celebration was held at one of the churches where AC first began. We gave special recognition to the Pastors of the churches where AC first held meetings.
The Celebration was well attended by at least 150+ folks - some who are no longer in AC but were there in the beginning. It was like a family reunion. The catered dinner was wonderful and the praise and worship by AC’s band was heavenly. We all felt the presence of the Spirit of God in that place. Our one remaining co-founder, Bill Keaton gave an inspiring talk reminding us all that it isn’t about US it’s all about HIM and it’s HIS MINISTRY – not ours! So we best be about seeking HIS will and way in all things.
The 30 Year Anniversary Committee wishes to thank all of those who attended and who helped set up on Friday night and tear down again on Saturday evening. Your help was greatly appreciated and you all did a wonderful job. It was a joy working with all of you.
May God Bless you greatly in all you do.
There are tapes and/or CD’s available. Call the office to place your order and please remember they are to be prepaid.
CHANGES IN THE NATIONAL OFFICE
Caroline, who has been with AC in the National Office for several years now answering the phones, printing workbooks, praying with you when you call, and all of the other duties involved – had a family situation that required her services in another state. We are sorry to see her go, HOWEVER, the Lord has provided a wonderful replacement in Pat, who has stepped into the full time position and in Tiffiny, who is helping out part time for now).

THANKSGIVING PRAISE FEST
Mark you calendars! November 20, 2006, starting at 6:PM at Calvary Church of God in Christ, 15025 Fenkell (4 block E of Greenfield Rd).
The scripture theme is “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto Him and bless His name.” Psalm 100:4 “For we are His workmanship, crated in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them” Ephesians 2:10. And do we ever enter into His gate and into His courts!! The praise is always heavenly and the food (it is a “Bring a dish to pass” event) is always plentiful and delicious. And we cannot forget to mention the fellowship! This is always a wonderful time with the Lord and a great opportunity to meet and get to know more of our Sisters and Brothers in recovery with Christ.
Come join us and bring a dish to pass. YOU DON’T WANT TO MIIS THIS TIME OF PRAISE AND WORSHIP!!
Please keep the AC group all across the nation and around the world lifted up in prayer. The enemy does not like the work we are doing and tries in every way possible to discourage the groups and their leaders. He will not only attack them personally, but also their family members. He shows no mercy, but we have authority in the name of Jesus over ALL the power of the enemy, so let’s use it!
Please be reminded that AC is funded only by your contributions and without them there would be no AC. So, if you are able to contribute even just a few dollars on a monthly basis, it would help us to continue to reach out to those who are suffering from alcoholism.
If you would like to receive the Newsletter via e-mail, please e-mail or call Pat in the office and let her know. The e-mail address is al4christ@globalbiz.net and the phone number is 248-399-9955 or 1-800-441-7877. We are trying to be good stewards of the resources the Lord has provided and this is one way to do that, as it would cut down our mailing costs. It is also on our web page, www.alcoholicsforchrist.com
We would like to know how your group is doing, so please e-mail, write, or call Pat with your news. God is good and we should be praising Him for all he has done and is doing for us.
GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU AND KEEP ON 12 STEPPING – all the way to JESUS.
