The Board of Directors Note:
We have received
numerous letters from a prison in TX. They are requesting a copy of
the Life Recovery Bible. Unfortunately we cannot afford as a
ministry to give each person a Bible. We contacted a ministry in TX
that is checking into getting these Bibles to this prison. In
the meantime several AC people have paid out of their own pockets to
supply some of these folks with the Life Recovery Bibles. We are
grateful for those who have such giving hearts and continue to bless
others with their financial offering, prayers and service.
Your work does not go unnoticed!
“The
Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great
delight in you, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice
over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17
May you be blessed this Season and throughout the New Year!
Pastor shares
As I sit at the computer
tonight to put on paper blessings received during the Orlando
Promise Keepers event, I must admit time will not allow but a small
portion. What an awesome God we have been called to serve!
This year I was more excited than normal to attend
PK because of our affiliation with AC ministries. It was just last
year at PK in St. Petersburg that I walked by AC Ministries booth,
did a double take and went back to my seat. The Holy Spirit would
not let me focus on the rest of the event until I went back to the
AC booth. As I came to the booth with really no intent of what was
happening, God took charge and the seed was planted for Solid Rock
group of AC in St. Petersburg, FL. As I talked with the people in
the booth, they anointed me and laid hands on me and prayed. From
that point forward AC was not a probability but a necessity.
Our first AC meeting was held on December 2, 1999.
and the fruit of that was now part of the trip to PK in Orlando.
Thirteen of us left St. Petersburg on Thursday morning Oct 19,2000.
Every one of them had been involved with AC. We were coming over on
Thursday because we were told we could help with intercessory prayer
team, and anoint the stadium. We were blessed to be used to anoint
and pray over 17,000 seats, all doors, every hallway, the
speaker’s platform, every vendors’ booth, ministry booth, the
entire stadium. We were blessed to pray for every phase of the event
and every speaker.
What blessed me more than anything ( other than 500
salvations and rededications) was to watch the first fruits of AC
St. Pete group as God transformed them into true prayer warriors.
Four of the thirteen attending were from the initial AC meeting on
Dec2, 1999. These new creations in Christ have been transformed
before my very eye and were now being used to further the Kingdom.
As God poured out His Holy Spirit on these four and they could feel
new power to enter their lives, it was obvious they realized God had
done for them what they could not do for themselves. Everyone was
touched in a powerful way during that trip. We all came back to St.
Pete with a deeper understanding of God’s love for us.
During this wonderful season as we celebrate the
birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ my hear sings as I review
my past year and the 54 salvations we have seen God germinate from
seeds planted on Thursday nights during AC meetings in St. Pete.
Today our church is a church of revival, a recovery revival, very
much of which is a direct result of our AC group. This grateful,
recovered alcoholic now, understands: “We are powerless over Sin
and our lives had become unmanageable.” I know that “God is no
respecter of persons”, but He sure has blessed us with AC and the
12 steps. I feel that this is the greatest discipleship tool our
church has ever had.

“Take Control of what I say, O Lord, and keep my
lips sealed,” Psalm 141:3 NLT
Listen
carefully to these words, “I maim without killing, I break hearts
and ruin lives. I am cunning and malicious, and I gather strength
with age. The more I am quoted, the more I am believed. I flourish
at every level of society My victims are helpless; they cannot
protect themselves against me, because I have no name or face. To
track me down is impossible. The harder you try, the more illusive I
become. I am nobody’s friend. Once I tarnish a
reputation, it’s never the same. I topple governments. I
wreck marriages. I make innocent people cry. Who am I?
My name is gossip!
Jesus said, “Every idle word that men shall speak,
they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by
thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be
condemned.” (Matthew 12:36-37)
Do you really believe that? If you do, you won’t
break someone’s heart by spreading his or her secrets.
Betraying their confidence, ruining their good name, or undermining
their self-esteem with ridicule and innuendo. You just won’t do
it!
David prayed, “Take control of what I say O Lord,
and keep my lips sealed” (Psalms 1414:3 NLT) that would be a good
prayer for you to pray today, too! Author Unknown
Blessed of the Lord
I had the privilege
of attending the Overcomers’ convention 2000. The convention took
place at the LaGrange Bible Church in LaGrange IL. Pastor Ross
Bacon hosted the event, and Bob and Becky Berg were the
chairpersons. Joe, Marie and I went to this event to talk about
partnering with Overcomers. During this event I was able to
hear and see the work of the Lord in the lives of those who felt
helpless, hopeless and loveless. I saw as they testified to
the glory of the Lord and are now witnessing for the Lord in deeds,
words and commitment to helping others. My heart was touched
and tears filled my eyes to remember how much He loves us. As
I went to the workshops, the information was awesome and answer to
prayer. Proverbs 2:6 “For the Lord giveth wisdom; out of his
mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.” Our prayer and hope is
for a Godly partnership with AC and Overcomers. We at AC are joining
hands with Overcomers and other 12 step ministries. AC will be
trying to host the Overcomers conference here in our area.
What a blessing that would be for all of us. Please pray that
God’s perfect will be done in this partnership and all the Glory
be given to God. AC is going to be reaching out to other 12
step ministries to also partner with us.

The Nashua NH Group Shares
“The Nashua, NH
chapter of Alcoholics for Christ held it’s first meeting on
Thursday, November 16th, 2000. Although the meeting
was small (3 people), we had a great time, praising the Lord, and
learning the relationship between step 1 and scripture. We had
only one table, and we used all three workbooks, because of the
makeup of our group. We have sent letters to 34 churches in
Nashua area, and have advertised in the local paper, and we pray
that our efforts will help other learn of Jesus and recovery.
Please keep us in your prayers!”
I have already had a couple calls about the group.
One of our people said, “this will grow, because it unique.” I
also contacted the group in Falmouth, Massachusetts. That is quite a
long drive from where we are, but we hope to get a group together
and go visit them one Monday night to see how they are conducting
their meetings. Keep us in your prayers!
In Christ’s love,
Jane.
Greetings Brothers and Sisters in Christ
Promise Keepers 2000 was concluded with a heart touching and joyful
banquet. There was plenty of food, great music, and moving
testimonies. The harvest was ready and God blessed AC
Ministries to meet the needs of the masses. Nearly 400 seeds
were planted which we, as laborers must faithfully oversee.
As we move into a new season, may God bless our
footsteps and give us wisdom to increase the effectiveness of AC
Ministries.
Sincerely, Your Brother in Christ,
Cornelius Roberson, AC Board of Director (Promise Keeper)
I
have included a break down of each Promise Keepers event we attended
this year.

OHIO SHARES
Gratitude was the topic at our
Special Thanksgiving Eve meeting of AC Adult Child meeting in North
Baltimore, OH. The attitude of each individual present
also showed this quality. After a brief time in Scriptures we all
shared in communion.
Our meetings are held on Wednesday evenings and the
Pastor of the church encourages us and allows us to meet in the
fellowship room. There is usually 8-10 who faithfully attend.
Our meetings always begin with prayer and we invite the Holy Spirit
to take over and give us ears to hear what the Spirit has to say.
Don began the meeting with Scripture found in 1
Samuel 2:8. This was part of the prayer Hannah prayed.
Verse 8 says, “ He lifts the poor from the dust- Yes, from the
piles of ashes…” He continues by adding that he is
grateful for the blood of Christ and to have another chance at life,
to be reborn, to have a loving partner and the list goes on.
He then passes to a young teenager who says that he is grateful that
God watches over us everyday. He tells of a recent accident
when he was driving and lost control of the vehicle and it flipped
over on its side. There were 4 passengers plus a baby and no
one was hurt. He says that he knows God was with them and will
always be with them no matter what. He states that the
meetings have helped him change a lot for the better.
Next we hear from a lady who shares how grateful she
is to see others get saved as a result of the meetings.
She says many times when she’s not sure which way
to go she always gets the answers at the meetings. She comments on
how God’s perfect timing answers all questions. Another
teenager says she’s thankful to be there and that she, too, has
learned more about the bible.
Next in line to share is a lady we all call Grandma.
She is thankful for a lot of things. The meetings have helped her
especially when her husband passed away. Her voice quivers and
she stops to shed a few tears in remembrance, but continues on as
the Holy Spirit leads. She says she is grateful for her great
grandbaby that is sitting on her lap contented and happy. The
teenage mother is next to share and she is grateful because the
atmosphere is very relaxing. Her husband is a truck driver and
she enjoys the meetings because they are good for her. The
next teenager states that she, too, is happy to be here and has
learned a lot at the meetings.
It is now my turn to share and I realize how our
meeting has grown. God is truly faithful to all of us.
He has given us new life, evident by all the teenagers who are in
attendance. We have the very young and the very old
alike. I am just very grateful to belong to a 12 step group
like AC. AC makes available to everyone the word of God and
lets the Spirit of God bring the increase. We do dedicate our
meeting to the Lord, just as Hannah prayed and dedicated her child
to the Lord. We extend our heart-felt invitation to
anyone and everyone until the Lord comes.
In love, The North
Baltimore, Ohio Group.
