News from Alcholics for Christ Canada

Our Lord is so faithful! There is so much I have to tell everyone and thank everyone from AC for their prayers.  On New Year’s Eve of 2002, Alcoholics for Christ Canada was invited on TV - 100 Huntley Street. Chuck and I were on about seven minutes and all the feed back we received has been good and positive.  We were asked why

we were drinkers and also what happened in our lives to make us surrender to Christ. This was so powerful.  The TV station loved it so much that they have invited us back.  Praise the Lord!  Also on New Year’s Eve the Canadian Web Site was launched and 100 Huntley Street put our web site address on the TV  Screen.  We pray that our Lord will use this to help people become aware of this program across Canada.  Also 100 Huntley Street  has a phone in talk show after midnight called Nite– Lite.  One of our AC members who received his sobriety mostly through our program called in and shared his experience strength and hope.  He shared how Christ has used this 12 step program to help heal him and about his desire to work in the prisons with AC.

Nite– Lite also brought up the Canadian website and showed our actual website page  on TV.   We feel so blessed by God our Father for what He is doing up here in Canada.  In the year 2002 we became incorporated as a non– profit organization in Canada and our charitable application will be approved in 2003.  After we receive the charitable status we will be able to raise funds for Christ to help AC Canada grow across Canada and throughout the world.  We claim all the land of the earth for

Alcoholics for Christ Ministries for the glory of our Lord and Savior.  We pray that all the earth will be set free in Christ.  As God has promised Abraham his descendants would be as grains of sand, we claim that there will be AC meetings in every  country in the world.   We want it possible to go to visit any state, providence, country in all the world and be able to attend an AC meeting and to share with our brothers and

sisters around the world what our Father in heaven has done for us and others through our addictions. We now have four meetings in Canada and we just  have

received a new application for a Chapter meeting in Dunnville, Ontario.  This should be approved by February bringing our meeting list to five in just over two years.  I

believe that our Jesus is now doing a quick work in these times and we are praying

expectantly for this to be more than double in 2003.   We thank God and all the prayers from AC ministries for the blessings and miracles we have seen and heard.

I have never in all my life experienced such joy since I have become involved with AC.   Jesus promised our joy  would overflow and be more abundant in John 15:11.  I just this year experienced what He was really talking about.  His word burns in my heart like a fire in my bones!  I am  weary of holding it in.                 Jeremiah 20:9

I love you all and God Bless,   Robin—Alcoholics for Christ  Canada

It was 1997 and the Holy Spirit was dealing with me about working for my Lord.  I was coming close to my 62nd birthday and had been sober by  God’s grace since the 22nd of July 1980.  What I understood at that time was that He needed me in the evening and I was working, 2nd shift.   When I prayed about it the message was simple.  QUIT!  So at the end of November 1997 I took early  retirement and began to seek my Lord and question Him about what  it was He wanted me to do.   I had been an active member of AA and was unaware that AC even existed.  Now the only thing the Holy Spirit would reveal to me was “carry the message”, a term I was familiar with in AA.
In January of 1998 we had a “healing” evangelist visit our church and during one prayer meeting the Lord revealed to me that there was unforgiveness in my heart and that he could not use me with a hardened heart.  I prayed for His forgiveness and He gave me a vision of the man who 30 years before had done me great wrong and I had never forgiven him.  At  this time I was able to tell him I loved him , and the Holy Spirit changed my life forever.
On the way home from that meeting the Lord spoke into my spirit revealing His plan for my ministry. I was to start a meeting in Corydon, a small town about 15 miles from my  home, of alcoholics who would use Christ as their” higher power”. And would come to believe through Jesus Christ they would be set free.  Within the next couple days as I revealed to my church family what had taken place, one of them told me of a meeting that took place at  Grace land church in New Albany, IN.  The meeting was called Alcoholics for Christ and the group leader was a lady  named  Barbara.  I met  with Barbara and sat at numerous meetings. Soon AC Corydon group began meeting in the next building, a facility used by AA . It seemed to be going okay but when I met with Joe J. at promise Keepers conference in Indianapolis, I was told to move the meeting into a church.  So I moved to my church in Elizabeth, IN. some 15 miles away.  Not a good move since the Holy Spirit instructions were very clear that this meeting was to be in Corydon.  At Christmas 1998 the meeting closed down.  I prayed for doors to open for an AC meeting and I also continued to go to meetings with Barbara’s group in New Albany.  She along with my church family were very supportive and encouraged  me to not give up.
The following spring of 1999 I received a call from the Pastor at First Capital Christian Church and was asked to start a meeting of Alcoholics for Christ in his church.  My prayers were answered.  I immediately had flyers printed and began distributing them and the Pastor had the meeting announced on the Sunday bulletin but no one came.  Many Monday evenings I would go to the church and open up, make a pot of coffee and pray for God to send His hurting and His addicted but still no one came.  It  was very frustrating, but I knew God would work in His time and His way.  Then one person came, then two, then four more, now we have a core group that I am sure is dedicated to His service.  We are a family that is continuing to grow and only because our only motivation is to serve Him.  God has blessed us with His presence through His healing spirit allowing us to witness his hand at work.

Yours in His service Llyod– Corydon, IN—Group
Llyods testimony is going to be included in the AC Big book.

Greetings from Dripping Springs group. It has been a long  year but we are hanging in there.  Meetings are not well  attended lately but I am still faithful and in prayer.  There are three of us that attend regualarly and several that come and go.  Three of our group members moved away to other places and attend meetings there.  A New Year a new Beginning.  I am still in touch with Jim from the Round Rock TX, group where I have attended several meetings  early in the  year.  A man from a radio station contacted me about public service spots.

Just an update on the Mercy of our Heavenly Father.  Last week we had four people join us.  It  was a blessing!  Last night, we had eight people, not counting a youth and one of our Ministers.   We had a glorious time in the Lord.  My church members are excited about having the AC meetings.  I am excited about what the Lord is doing.  I am going to get a banner made to put outside on Tuesday nights.  I was told that ten other people showed up looking for our meeting but could not find it.  Sister Joyce— San Diego, CA group

We are a gospel homeless mission, for the inner– city.  We find Alcoholics for Christ to be a blessing here.  Our group is running between 15-30 people per meeting.  We have three meetings a week.  When we had only one meeting a week we would have fifty—sixty people coming to the meeting.  We find AC to be an important part of our program here.  Thanks for all you do.   Wayne—Okalahoma– group

NEWS FROM NIGERIA GROUP

AC has been a great and wonderful Ministry through which lots of Nigerians have become spirit filled Christians. AC has provided an abundance of blessings, help, and security in Jesus Christ to broken people, substance abusers, family members and captives.  Defeated and enslaved persons in alcohol, drugs, and immoral acts have had their lives rejuvenated and transformed through the precious blood of our Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ Rom 5:8.

Brethren in Nigeria have started a prison Ministry which is another arm of AC international.  The first meeting was overwhelmingly greeted with great enthusiasm and sacrifice from members.  Two visits were paid to inmates. They were told that the repentance came from confessing to God their sins, and believing that the Lord Jesus Christ died for their sins on the cross and raised for their justification.  The in- mates anxiously look forward to receiving materials in the form of clothing, food, etc. We had none to give them.  We promised that Almighty God through our Lord Jesus Christ, “The harvest is plentiful, in fact enormous, but the laborers are few.  Matthew 9:36-37

In absolute humbleness, I wish to charge beloved members to put in more efforts in the year 2003 in creating resources and sending the same to Alcoholics for Christ National Office Royal Oak, Michigan, U.S.A. to enable the newly elected officers to render services and execute the work of our Lord Jesus Christ. Here in Nigeria AC is planning to establish a Rehabilitation Center where discharged prisoners and freed alcoholics and drug addicts could be empowered to lead new, clean and decent lives.  Please include us in your prayers,  Beloved and great members in the Lord, do not be defeated and discouraged, rather remain faithful in the Lord.  Remember that when things start to happen, then know that the end of the era is near.  Please don’t be caught unaware, always be prepared and ready for the Lord.  “ As a farmer usually harvest his crops during the harvest season, so,  the Son of Man - Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, will harvest righteous persons into his kingdom.

God in His love set a standard, and blazed a trail with His own Son, that would provide purpose, service, happiness, hope and peace.  I obediently urge members of  AC to always conduct, pattern their lives after our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the only hope for mankind.  Remembering that “If the son sets you free, you are free indeed” John 8:36

I am your fellow laborer of Jesus Christ,  Stanley  - Nigeria Coordinator
