Alcoholics for Christ has a Booth at P.K.

Men's Retreat Surpasses.......

Just about everything that the participants were expecting. God in His Infinite Mercy and Grace, came in like a small still voice and moved inside the men like an erupting volcano!

Workshop Presents

"Finest Teaching"
On June the 20th, at the Calvary Church of God in Christ, there will be a gathering of the most respected and knowledgeable speakers to ever grace a function of "strictly Recovery Topics." The Substance Abuse Workshops entitled "If you want to Use, God will let you!" or in street- lingo; "Get God or get stupid!" Will be presented by Clarence Eubanks, and Julius Carson (both are lettered and bring many years of experience in the service of recovery-ministering ).

Promise Keepers
Held their 1998 Detroit Area Rally in the Pontiac Silverdome on May 15th and 16th. This was the first time that Alcoholics for Christ had a Literature Booth in the Associated Ministries Tent that is located right outside the entrance to the Dome. Literature was handed out by the thousands, and hundreds of request for more information, many wanting to know the location of current groups or how to start one up. The information requests came from Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania, New York, Mississippi, Nevada, Michigan, and several cities in Ontario, Canada. Many request came from Pastors, Chaplains, and Recovery Ministries. Large numbers of people were prayed for, with God answering prayers right on the spot! For several desperate people, it was no accident that the men of A/C were there to minister God's Love and Compassion (So freely He has given it to the hurting world). We are confident that several new groups will be starting up (as a result of the PK A/C union), to provide fellowship unity and support, as well as freedom from the ravages of substance abuse. To a man, the volunteers who served at the booth, continually remarked that "it was such a blessing to be there and talk to the different brothers-in-Christ about what the Lord is doing in the restoration and reconciliation." If these are not the last days...they look enough like them...for us to be using them as practice...for the time when the last days do come! This event was so successful, that Promise Keepers invited us to another Rally, and we accepted. We'll be at the PK Rally in Grand Rapids, MI on August 14th and 15th. Pray the Lord will continue!!!
